PowerCON is a series of professional AC power connectors developed by Neutrik. These connectors with bajonet Locking mechanism are widely used in AV, broadcast, and stage applications where secure and high-current power delivery is essential.
Known for their robust locking mechanism, Neutrik powerCON connectors prevent accidental disconnects, making them ideal for mobile, high-vibration, or mission-critical environments.
Main Types of PowerCON
PowerCON 20 A (Type V for NETIO)
- Available in two mechanically incompatible variants to prevent incorrect connections:
- Blue (Type A): Power input (power-in)
- Gray (Type B): Power output (power-out)
PowerCON 32 A
- Designed for applications requiring higher current, such as stage lighting or industrial power distribution.
Key Features of PowerCON
- Locking mechanism for secure power connection
- High current capacity in a compact form factor
- Color-coded variants to avoid misconnection
- Resistant to vibration and mechanical stress
PowerCON Use Cases
- LED walls / big screens
- Professional AV installations
- large-scale AV setups
- Broadcast racks and control rooms
- Touring and mobile AV equipment
- Stage lighting and event installations
- High-end industrial and lab gear
- Anywhere that requires stable, secure, and high-performance power deliver
NETIO and PowerCON (Type V)
NETIO integrates powerCON connectors in some PDUs (xxV):
- PowerPDU 8QV (8 outputs with metering, Neutrik PowerCON)
- PowerPDU 4PV (4 outputs, without metering, Neutrik PowerCON)
NETIO PDUs Type V features
- Type V (NETIO products called „xxV”) are NETIO PDUs with PowerCON connector.
- 110/230V AC with 16A current limit (popular in Europe, UK and also USA).
- Blue connectors are power-in
- Gray/White connectors are power-out.
In real-world environments where equipment is often moved or exposed to vibration, powerCON ensures the power stays connected — no matter what
These PDUs are designed for professional AV, IT, and broadcast applications, offering remote control, power-up sequencing, energy metering, and open API support — with the added benefit of lockable powerCON outputs.
